Autotech continues to push the performance exhaust system envelope. Extensive research and development time was spent in conjunction with industry icon Magnaflow to improve on the factory offering, as Volkswagen has done a great job engineering the stock 2.0T exhaust for ample flow. We're proud to have met that challenge and now offer our Autotech SportTuned Stainless Steel Exhaust Systems for the Mk5 2.0T models. The 3.00" diameter, 100% stainless steel tubing is a half-inch larger than stock and mandrel-bent for maximum flow.
These cat-back systems exit through a low-restriction T304 stainless steel Magnaflow muffler and dual 3" tips that feature our laser-engraved AUTOTECH logo, providing a menacing appearance with an aggressive exhaust note worthy of the all-conquering 2.0T motor! Dyno tests (using a DynoJet 248C chassis dyno) show gains of up to 8 horsepower and 6 ft./lbs. of torque at the wheels, impressive considering most competitors systems also require changing the downpipe/catalyst (which is currently an illegal modification) to realize any power gain. All Autotech SportTuned Stainless Steel Exhaust Systems feature a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY to the original purchaser. Stock GTI 2.0T cat-back exhaust weight: 36 lbs.
