22MM SPORT MASTER CYLINDER (SCIROCCO II 16V)

When upgrading your car's brake system, it may become necessary or desirable to upgrade your car's brake master cylinder as well. The large caliper-pistons used in big brake conversions need a bigger master cylinder to supply enough fluid. This is especially important when 4 wheel discs are on the car. Autotech offers a sport 22mm master cylinder. The result will be a firmer pedal, with reduced pedal travel. It is a direct fit on German built cars produced after 1/84 (cabrio/scirocco). Earlier Mk1 chassis vehicles built in Germany will require the changing of the vacuum booster and fluid reservoir (sold below) as well. US-built Mk1 cars will require modification or replacement of the brake pedal linkage. Some cars are factory-equipped with a 22mm master cylinder. Consult our tech department for further information.
