Holinger now offers a solution for 3rd gear synchro cone failures in the 981 GT4 manual transmissions.
Holinger’s design prevents such failures from ever happening again, while Holinger’s expertise and quality ensures you can enjoy your GT4 to the fullest without any hesitatation or doubt.
Holinger PG81 Reinforced 3rd Gearset Features:
• Reinforced gears are made from superior VAR nickel alloy.
• New gears are direct replacements and require no gearbox modifications.
• New 3rd gear uses factory tooth profile and stock ratio (27:38 / 1.407)
• Synchro dog-cones are splined to the gear - this prevents ring-detachment failure that has been known to occur in standard GT4 gearboxes (see images below).
• All gear teeth are profile-ground after heat treatment, ensuring the most accurate engagement and tooth finish - resulting in quiet, more efficient running.allows the gear lever to be pushed or pulled in any direction, providing a trigger signal to the ECU. The ECU filters the signals to only cut torque during upshifts.
